In a crowd....yet all alone.

Loneliness is a terrible thing. It gnaws at you, eating away at your very being, robbing you of the person you once were.

The happy, fun loving person you once  were has changed into one even you can't recognize; the reflection in the mirror is of a total stranger, staring back at you through tears, feeling  uncared and unloved.....and alone.

While there is no denying that we come into this world alone and we go back alone,  how sad is it, that while living you feel isolated, despite being amid family or friends.

How painful to think, that you are a non-entity and that someone only wants you around for financial support, just to make life easier for them. Worse still,  you realize you are being taken for granted but continue to live that way, because it has become a way of life.

Unfortunately, there are many, for whom a sense of loneliness clings, like second skin.

Needless to say, it makes them miserable and unhappy and they tend to have a very negative outlook on life. Then again, what can one expect, where there is no caring, no sharing, no love or joy in one's life.

But it doesn't have to be that way; life gives you choices and one such choice is to move on.

While life's road is filled with twists and turns, it takes courage to venture beyond your comfort zone, beyond the shackles that have confined you to a life of loneliness.

One can only hope that just as the setting sun gives birth to a new dawn, your efforts will not be in vain.

So break free, from the fear and uncertainty and stride forward with hope and faith, because like they say: "Nothing ventured, nothing gained."
