Why God created mothers

I love the quote: God couldn't be everywhere, that is why he created mothers.

It reminds me of my mother who, God bless her soul, was an  angel in our lives. For my sisters and me, she was absolutely perfect. There was nothing she couldn't do. She gave of herself, she loved unconditionally. She was patient, she never complained and she was instrumental in making me the person I am today.

While it is hard not to miss her more on Mother's Day, it is also a time for me to reflect on the type of mother I have turned out to be.

I can never ever be like my mother - you can't copy a masterpiece to perfection. I have had my share of meltdowns, I can get impatient, I speak my mind and I complain when I feel overwhelmed.

I hardly ever did any chores as a child, but today, I expect my kids to help. Does that make me a cruel mum...I should hope not.

One thing is certain - I have and always will love my children unconditionally.

If I could reverse the clock, there are lot of things I would do differently, but overall, I must have done something right when I see how wonderful my children have turned out.

They are so  loving, kind and generous. They have a sense of responsibility, they are ambitious, wise beyond their years and  there is so much I have learnt from them too.
They give meaning to my life....they are my angels and they complete me.

I am so grateful!
