Keeping the faith

We all go through endless highs and lows in our lives, times when it all seems too much to handle and other times, when life is beautiful.

Good times slip by way too fast but the challenge lies in surviving the tough times and coming out of it probably scarred, but hopefully stronger.

It is during those tough times, that I remind myself of a poem I came across years ago, which has been a much needed balm and reminder, about keeping the faith.

As children bring there broken toys
With tears for us to mend
I brought my broken dreams to God
I thought he was my friend
But instead of leaving Him
In peace to work alone
I turned around and tried to help
In ways that were my own
At last I snatched them back and cried,
How could you be so slow?
My child, He said, what could I do
You never did let go.
